some good things of November

i was just having a visit to
Aunt Purl's blog
and i thought i should make my own
Good List of November, as it stands. . . .

There were lots of chocolates to
share this month. It was nice to
give presents that were delicious.

It's a great season for eating cake.
Really: Who
Doesn't want cake in the autumn?

My parents are coming home from their
vacation in China. I'll be happy to hear their
news and stories.

The weather in Montreal
has been absolutely
balmy for this time of year.
It's like a gift from
Mother Nature to have sunny skies and not be
freezing in November.

My neighbours have a new puppy.
He is a three month old Scotty dog and cute
as a button.

brings the birthdays of some very special friends...

and
it's the month that all the
Christmas and Holiday cards go on sale in the shops.
I love buying Christmas cards.
they're just very heavy to carry home!


And all the ribbons
and doo dads will be out in
full form.

And special cookies.
I love cookies. Christmas time Cookies
are the greatest, bakers pull out all
their best tricks and
special treatments.
It's a very
exciting time of the year for eating.


Now, where do i buy cake tins in Montreal ? ?

these are giant donuts.
This was one of the dessert choices
at the restaurant, Joe Beef one Thursday night
in October.

I can assure you that this photograph
has not been spruced up or altered in any way.
The donuts are
sliced in half and made into a donut-sandwich
with apple-cinnamon ice cream.

I was very curious to see what this would be like.
