For the knitting companion ....
Here is the Knitting Companion's new place mat.
we didn't have one for the apartment, so i thought this
one would be cute for him.
And, i've just bought my first issue of "Bark" Magazine.
it's really cute. 
i bought an amarylis at the Ferry building.
we need something Green & growing for the apartment.
I think the first flower will be open in no time.

I've seen peace sign pasta I think at Trader Joe's, but it's been a long time. Now you've got me curious to go check out what they've got right now in that department; it changes all the time.
I love amaryllises, and yours is going to be gorgeous.
Have you seen Christmas lights in palm trees yet? Now THAT is Californian! (And after 20 years, still weird to this Easterner.)

Saw your comment on Stephanie's snowday post-- I'm a native of SF, so to me it doesn't begin to seem like Christmas until the rains come. Now, with the storm arriving yesterday, my spirits are lifting! Christmas music on the stereo, cider on the stove-- now I'm in the mood.
