Do you think Cezanne meant that if he thought too much about a painting as he was doing it, that it lost some of it's sparkle and creativity? I find thinking about something I'm doing makes it far more difficult.
After reading your quote I'm going to go back to my original design for a project I'm doing. Just get on with it instead of trying to get it better.
I also like your Basel image(never heard of him before)
Looks as if he's used a computer which is highly unlikely in 1925!
If you think, I guess you lose the spontaneity and instinctiveness to conscious processes and influences, censor your work and get bogged down in the possibilities...
I love the colours in this. It's strange but they're not the colours I associate with Klee at all. I always think of him and very bright strong colours.
