preparations for the Knitting Olympics
We finally had a tiny bit of snow yesterday
here in Montreal. Not much at all, but at least
there was enough to add a bit of sparkle to things.
Preparations for the Knitting Olympics are underway
across the lands.
The Knitting Companion helped me swatch some new
yarn over the weekend.
I had originally planned to make the Mansocks
with lovely "Emu, Superwash" wool.
i made a swatch, washed it up ... and it's gorgeous.
lovely and soft. Cuddly even.
However, it's extremely fibrous. A little bit
too much on the fuzzy side for me. In December
i found out i am allergic to Alpaca. the little
alpaca fibres flew into me as i knit, and it
was too much for me to cope with, bronchially.

So Sadly, i've put away the Emu wool superwash,
for now and i have bought some new Regia.
Brown. Stripey wool for the socks.
and two tone brown Regia for the toes.
here's the future Sock toes of Mansocks Knitting Olympic Project:
