wool, embroideries and nightmares

something wonderful happened last week.
this bright & colourful skein of
hand dyed Mohair & Merino mix arrived in my mail box from a friend!
it feels wonderful.
It's from the farm of Gordon & Jane Jorgensen in Pugwash, Nova Scotia.
they have cashmere goats, angora goats sheep & a llama. (that would be Cocoa.)
they sell skeins of hand dyed (single colours & blends) of
wool, cashmere, llama and mohair yarns,
fleece for spinning & thrumming,
and ... more.
and yes, they take orders.

i'll take a picture when it's started to become something more than a skein.

speaking of skein:

last month i mentioned that i bought some fabulous superwash wool.
Hand dyed. it's creamy soft. and i bought it to make socks. for me.
the colour seems to be rather pale in the photo. it's due to the bright sunshine.
it's actually a lovely warm caramel/coffee colour.
here it is .....

Monday, in the english newspaper (the Gazette)
there was a story about nightmares.
and how they point out what's feeling wrong (to you) in your life.
it said,
" Bad dreams are a gift from subconscious
to prod the dreamer to action when awake."
Well. there you go. Consider yourself prodded.

and now
for a completely different frame of mind ~

i'd like to share with you this lovely hand made tapestry that was made in India.

Embroidered tapestry purchased from the 1000 Villages shop in Montreal.
do you know the 1000 villages shops ?
they buy hand made products from coops around the world, to help give paying jobs.
i can't find their website but i know there Must be one. somewhere, that will explain it much better than i can.
