it's Bourbon
I had never tried bourbon before.
It gets mentioned in songs and litterature
but i've never actually tasted it.
This month, a tiny bottle of Bourbon
made its way into the house for some
recipe or other.
(who can keep track? i just like to eat)
So above, you can see this cute bottle (sorry,
empty already after the chef used it for cooking).
I thought the name was cute "Knob Creek".
but i thought the description
"ucky straight bourbon" was a bit bizarre.
After all, don't these Knob people WANT
people to drink the bourbon?
well, i tried a drop of this bourbon (pretty,
dark colour)
& had to say i agreed
fully with the "ucky" description.
it's just not my cup of tea, so to speak.
but then i looked closer and saw
that there was more to the label
than just plain "ucky".
You can see in this second photo
that it's really not Ucky at all; it's Kentucky.
whoops.
I'm sure as bourbon goes, this
is marrvy stuff. Just not for me.
At the bottom, you can see the scale
of the bottle: so cute, it's as big as a shot glass.

just how it's been
it's been a very busy week.
and i've even been vaccuuming.
(don't fall off your chair)
Today i enjoyed
"indian take away" for lunch.
To be honest, there were only three dishes
and a Nan bread. But the bag
containing my
lovely Hot Food seemed
to weigh an awful lot.
Yes a tonne.
So we have Indian food for the Next
Several Meals (lucky me).
and i have a Nan bread to share
with the Knitting Companion.
He's always loved Nan bread.
I guess it's natural because
he was born in Montreal.
This afternoon, the Knitting Companion
and i took some time to sit still
and Knit.
No photos of any knitting
yet.... i've gone looking for
my camera three different times
this afternoon and keep forgetting
about the camera once i
start my "search".
Oh well, at
least i managed to get some
Laundry on the go.
Oh this weekend we change the
clocks back by an hour
in North america.
Hope i remember by the
time Saturday night rolls around.

Frida
The Frida Kahlo
exhibition at the SF MOMA
finished last month.
it was one of those events where you bought
your tickets ahead of time, and you were given
a specific entrance time.
I went with my friend Linda.
While we were really interested to see
the exhibition, there were far too many
people in the rooms. You could hardly see
the artwork for the live bodies crowding around.
I love visiting museums
when you can see what you came to look at;
instead of visiting at times when you
have to get jostled, pushed and have
your bottom groped or pinched.
