what's Happening ?

I've really been enjoying this cd:
Big Night.
it was a gift from a friend.

Right now,
i could really use one of these
lovely coffees:

Ah, but this
little one was in Lucca.
A little far to go ~ and i really
need one now.

Margaret:
Lucca is very close to Florence.
it's just about an hour away.
a little over an hour if you take the train.

And you must be wanting
to see this delicious
birthday gift.
Lovely soft, touchable
yarn. I don't know yet
what i'll be making with it.
But right now that doesn't matter.
It's like a little pet:
Cute, soft and nice to look at.

Views of this week

I received a marvellous
and unexpected package in the post
this week ....

How does friday look for you?

New ink and
a lovely New Fountain pen!

and, a Faber Castell drawing case.
it's already full of pencils and coloured pencils.

We're having a lot of snow today.
This was the view from my studio
window, early this morning.

It's been snowing steadily today,
with lots of winds. Time to get
back outside and shovel.

Again.

You of noble mind:

"Now then, you of noble mind,
who love this profession,
come at once
to art and
accept these precepts:
enthusiasm (love), reverence, obedience, and perseverance."
(Cennino Cennini, 1370-1440)

sock on the go

progress is not always

a speedy process.

this yummy yarn
is fashioning
a terrific sock.

What is the Einstein coat ?

Just so you don't think
that the

Einstein knit along (mentioned
in yesterday's posting)
is about making a little

tiny dog coat - you
might want to look at Heidi's
post about the
Launch day of the
Einstein Knit along.

Host Heidi, is the Queen of
London-Wul. maybe you know
her already.

In case you're thinking of making
your own Einstein coat/jacket,
here are hints from the designer,
Sally Melville. Have a look
Here to see the Einstein coat.

Wishful thinking.

I'm really in the mood for a bowl
of these:

But i don't
have any.
so the photo will have to do.

Progress: Let's talk Einstein

You may recall
that Heidi,
of London-Wul
is hosting an Einstein
Knit along
.
It's the Einstein coat,
designed by Sally Mellville.

I had been wanting
to make an Einstein
jacket for quite a while
& Heidi's group-Knit
seemed just the right time
to get this project going.

Early this year,
I ordered
my yarn.
There weren't
enough skeins (i needed three)
in the Yarn shop of the colour
i wanted.
I wanted
"Moss green".

Progress !
I've just received my
yarn for the Einstein jacket.

More progess: i cast on last night.
Photos to follow, when
i have More than a centimetre
to document.

From Henry Brooks Adams:

"Chaos is the law of nature;
order is the dream of man."

(Henry Brooks Adams)

it's that time.

Views of the birthday week.

Some of us
believe that celebrations
should not be contained
to merely one day.

There is a luxury in being quiet in the heart of chaos.
