answers ....

many people have written
about the cupcakes.
I cannot take credit for making them -
I didn't make them. i did
make the icing for them and add the sparkly sugar.

and i did my part to eat them. I was quite
successful in that endeavour.

There was no Special Occasion for the cupcakes.
the house cooking/baking-enthusiast
wanted to try out some new recipes.

It was marvellous.

Oh ! and yes, the hat ! i must get photos from the
artist - he had arranged for a photographer. Apparently, my
new little chapeau did find its way into some of the photos
on vernissage night.
