Colour it up

It's a grey day.
Time to inject some colour for the soul.

"Colourists are epic poets."
Charles Baudelaire

"Colour is the fruit of life."
Guillaume Apollinaire

"Colour is an act of reason."
Pierre Bonnard

Welcome to December

small selection of the
rocks from my work table.

oh my! it's December.
Hopefully i'll be up and
about again soon and back to work.
Now ? i'm going back to bed.

ponies for friday

Weather in Montreal is nasty today.
We're having freezing rain.

i thought it would be a nice time to share
this photo of some Shetland ponies.
Ponies actually living on the island of Shetland.
Need proof ? left hand corner of the photo:
Look at the flag. See how windy it is?
That's Shetland for sure.

Ding dong...

I was minding my own business,

asleep in my bed.
The doorbell rang.
I managed clothes,
and it was the postman.

OOh! what could he be bringing.

Everyone likes presents.
Yes, but it turns out not to be
a present for me today.

i Am still
fighting with the bronchitis.
(still no desire for chocolate. This is
bad news).

The Knitting Companion and
i are going to make some tea.
And then i'll have
Vanilla pudding* and go
back to bed.

(*yum: it was made with Love)

Hopefully i will be alert later
and do some knitting.
The lovely Ruby asked about the
pattern for the fingerless gloves.
they're from Knitty's summer issue.
"knucks".

Fuzzy poodle

The Knitting Companion
has been very compassionate.
Not to mention patient.

You know you're not well when:

I'm fighting hard
with bronchitis this week.
I've had antibiotics
since Monday morning.
You know you're not well
when coffee doesn't call your name,
and chocolate no longer
holds Any Appeal. (Gasp!)

sunday night

Ouch.
i have a sore throat.

This Angel was originally
intended as a Christmas
decoration. I think she's
far too nice to put away
after Christmas time.
So i don't put her away.
She lives in various rooms of
my house all through the year.
Right now she's on the dining
room table. Yes, on a tie-dye
style table cloth.
I hope her little friends
are at my Grandmother's side
tonight.

this lovely
painting of a young boy
at study
comes to you thanks to the Museum's
Girodet Exhibition.
