Convincing ...
"There are no
concrete or abstract forms, but only forms
which are more or less convincing lies."
Pablo Picasso
Montreal artist and a very big, black poodle. He loves fibres; the arts; so do i. His favourite fibre for knitting is mohair.

It's a grey-most-of-the-time
sort of day today here in Montreal.
You won't be seeing any Garden Greenery
from my garden for several months.
So i thought this was a good time
to let one of the house plants
have the spotlight.
This plant finally seems to have
found its "right spot" in the dining room.
I think that it's finally happy,
because i see some new leaves growing.

And, from the land of wool,
i present to you the new colours
by Opal. I haven't seen these
new colours in person. I found this
delicious photo thanks to Julie's blog.
Yes, that would be Julie
of the wonderful Needle Emporium.
Julie's shop is a mecca. and the bags she
carries are ....
Well, let's just say that if you saw them,
you'd want them.
I will have some knitting photos
to share with you later on.

All those
months & months of work & preparation?
it all boiled down to four days of this.
It was fabulous and Really Exciting.
So. While i was away
at SOFA Chicago,
an astronomically
Huge event in my life as an artist,
Canada's own
Yarn Harlot paid a visit
to my city of Montreal.
Murphy's Law can be nasty.
I was really sorry to miss her visit.
You can see how some of her time was
spent if you look at Mona's blog ...
there is even more
photographic evidence if you follow
the links.
At least i was away for a Good reason.
Good ? No, it was absolutely Fantastic.
Finally the blog
is in the mood for some posting ...
it's even accepting photos this morning.
(and about high time, too).
So, everyone wonders about what to
take on the plane. Just how
much can you fit into your handbag ...
and who can have idle hands for those
hours of waiting & flying?
So last thursday saw me
packed off to
Montreal's Trudeau International Airport.
at hand, i had
an assortment of coloured pencils,
a marker or two, and my
tiny Moleskine Notebook.

Of course there was some knitting.
A sock in progress, and the appropriate tools.
I must confess that i started this sock
specifically for the trip. I needed something
very small, and with a "fresh" sock
there was (hopefully) no danger of having to
turn a heel that first morning at the airport.
