catch up

time for a litle catch up with photos
that i've already banked here in the computer:

a tip of the hat to my wonderful coffee pot ...

and photo tribute to
my beautiful hand crafted Cream & Sugar
set. My friend's Mum
made this for me. It was a gift
upon moving to my very first
apartment.
Thank you, Mrs. B.

in fibre related photo-news...

Yet to be knit;
some wonderful hand dyed wool blend.
This is going to make a lustrous fabric.
I've wrapped it into a ball, but there has
been no test knit yet.

And, here is the Knitting Companion
passing the time in his garden.

Another
view of the
Companion, having a nap with
his toys, blanket and a tapestry cushion.

Saturday Morning

Happy Saturday

Montreal on Saturday morning;
the Knitting Companion and i
have been reading the saturday paper.
He seems hungry, or shall i say Peckish,
since he's not eating his breakfast.

Later today, i hope to visit
the Wednesday to Saturday business of
Vinyl Records & lovely sweets ....
as first discovered on An Endless Banquet.

It's been a very busy and eventful week.
Still no camera here for the Companion and i.
we're hoping to borrow one until we make the
commitment to a new one.

In the meantime, our fridge is standing on
it's last leg, our bathroom lights refuse to work
and it seems that the roof is leaking.
We have a telltale sign on the ceiling:
an unwelcome bulge in the plaster. This
is not a happy thing to find.

What's up for Wednesday ....

You may recall that i am officially
without digital camera. it's battery is kaput,
finito & totally dead
after being used for
less than a year.
However, i have some photos
in the computer that will still illustrate
what's up for now.

If some of them look a little
familiar, please bear with me.

There has been a lot of creative work going on at

my benchdesk.
Pearls, silver, amethyst and moonstones
have all been in the limelight over the past six weeks.

a selection of work has been sent off to Manitoba
for a travelling show that will start this autumn, 2006.

In textile news,
i've been knitting up some
little things for a new Canadian baby.
Hopefully the new items will
make it into the post this week.

And ! in sock news !
i have finished my first ever
pair of cotton blend
socks. They're little ankle socks
in self striping Regia. They're really cute.
and of course, because the digital camera
is Kaput i couldn't photograph them
for Blogviewing.
i haven't worn them yet.
it's just been too hot.

The Knitting Companion and i are
walking over to the Co-op this morning
to buy some coffee.
He loves to visit everyone at the Co-op,
and i need some brew. The walk will do
us both good.

harrumphs...

Still on par with the Technical Harrumphs,
the lights in my bathroom
have been on the fritz.
There are three lights.
two of them have decided to go on summer
vacation. The halogen bulbs have been replaced,
cajoled, sworn at and sung to -- all to no avail.
the lights don't enjoy lighting up anymore. Sometimes
they light up for a nanosecond; just to annoy
and frustrate me.

You may wonder why this is such
a matter of annoyance. but the bathroom
is a place i like to see what's happening.
know my face is at least clean, if not presentable
before venturing off into the world.
Lighting in the bathroom is important to me.

i am so fed up
with these halogen lamps. i want them
taken down & replaced with light fixtures that
require Normal Light Bulbs. Arghhh.

Oh, and i think the roof is leaking. there's
a strange something happening on the ceiling.
Oiy.

technical harrumphs

i've been trying to get photos
from a cellphone onto the blog.
it's just not working.

and i've been trying to send
out some
digital images for a show.
it's Just Not Working Out.
Too many technical difficulties.
And too much time to do all
this.

This
Does not seem to be a good photo
day for me.

argh.

arrrrrrrggggggggh.

So, here you can imagine
blog photos of your choice.
imagine they're lovely and
arty and well shot.

the latest ...

it's official now.
my digital camera is kaput.
Well, not the whole camera - but the battery.
this most recent battery is less than a year
old. You can guess that i'm
less than pleased at its
performance.

We had a big thunderstorm
last night at 4.30 a.m.
Today, i'm feeling somewhat
kaput myself. Even the Knitting Companion
had a hard time to get up this morning.

i leave you with this quote, below.
You can apply it to your
own life of course, by substituting
something else creative (knitting perhaps?) for "draw".
However, if you DO draw, you won't be sorry.

"Do not fail to draw something every day, for no matter how
little, it will do you a world of good."
(Cennino Cennini)

still here

I'm not away on vacation...
i'm trying very hard to keep my head down & keep focused
and stay working. And for this reason, the blog has been quiet.

This past month has been very eventful.
in not- chrological order,
there has been:

• a death,
• an engagement, (followed by a marvellous party)
• a wake (everyone had a very good time),

• a baby girl has been born to my friends in Ontario,

• three birthday parties (all very fun and very noisy),
• Huge and Wonderful news that i've been accepted
to be in the SOFA exposition this autumn,

News of operatic proportions were abounding.

And last week, my
very tiny Grandma fell on the kitchen
floor & ended up in hospital.
She's now back at home. Resting and recovering.
Even the cat is tippy-toeing around her.
