need a coffee

i've tried to add a few
posts this week ... but blogger
wasn't always in the mood.

I've started work on the
Regia cotton-blend socks.
i like the way it knits up.
and the colourway is so soothing.

My head needs some extra
help to get going today. I'm going
to make a nice big bowl of coffee
and get back to my work bench.

Saturday Morning

The Knitting Companion and i have
many projects on the go.
and we have things to share.

during our (Very First Ever)
visit to Julie's Needle Emporium
last month, we picked up a
new-to-us sock yarn.
it's washable wool.
am loving the organic sense of colours.

We also found a stash of Belgian-spun,
super soft Cascades Cotton chenille.
There's a new baby in our midst ...
so we've been
working on some little gifts with this.

Now, in local all-Art-related
news ....

Have you ever been
to the Tour des Arts?
it starts on July 15 to 23, 2006.
This is an annual art event.
Make time to visit this in
the eastern townships of Quebec.

Après le 1er juin 2005,
nous pourrons vous envoyer
un dépliant par la poste.

Pour tous renseignements
envoyez un courriel à
un des organisateurs:

hello scotland

These images were
taken last summer by my mom.
We went on a trip to scotland,
and i want to revist some of
the views.
unfortunately, i don't have
many digital images to share.

what's Up, you ask?

Here, you will find the link to the blog
by a Gifted and wonderful Curator, Kristen P-N.
The exhibition of
"Crafting Contemporary Art" will start in September.
The show will travel for ten months.
This will give you a taste of one of the things
i've been working on.

As of June 23, my work is now appearing
Here at the CMAQ. The work will be on
exhibit until October 2006.

Already Wednesday

it has been a busy time ... and the blog has been rather quiet.
The Knitting Companion however, has been faithfully by my side.
I did pop my head up today long enough to see a butterfly
in the garden.

I will start with Knitting news:

a wonderful Yarn Fairy gave me a
surprise gift last week.

a skein of Regia Cotton/wool blend.
(ooh and ahhhh !)

Look at these lovely calming colours ....
don't they just say "hot summer day" to you?
i can't wait to try this combo yarn. I've never
made socks with cotton in them.
This Regia is about 40% cotton. I'll let you know
(eventually) how things go along.

In work news ...
the month of June had more paperwork involved than anyone
wants to ever have.
The good news is that it's now time to
be Making Things. Thank goodness, because
i'm no fan of paperwork. Above, you can see a bit of what
is happening on my workbench.

And below,
you can see some stones collected at the end of
last summer ... they're about to begin their new lives
as wearable art.

The stones are from
Notre Dame de Portage, Quebec, Canada.
i'm going back to work now.
