friday .... already

Happy Big thanks to all the
wonderful comments on my big

news with the Ontario Craft Magazine.

Here in Montreal, we had snow all day on Monday.
In spite of that fact, it never seemed like very much was accumulating.

That is, until you shovelled the snow.
or tried to slog through it.
there was a considerable amount of heavy fresh snow.

Wednesday we had rain. All Day.
This is just wrong. Very wrong. It's January: let's have snow.

in non-weather news,
I have started work on a new woolen mitten.
And i've been making Pompoms. No
Photos yet, but i promise to change that shortly.

The knitting companion has gone for his hair trim.
The whole experience was very draining,
in his fuzzy opinion. However, he's looking like
velvet now, and it's very cute.

I'm feeling a little fuzzy-headed myself today.
Apparently, my ability to focus this morning is also fuzzy.

And: My copy of the Yarn Harlot's latest book
has finally arrived on my doorstep.
Hoooooray !
I am thrilled.

the "Pombomb" by Tait & Style

This is the most adorable felted ball.
it was made by "Tait & Style" in Stromness, Orkney, Scotland.
It has the most
wonderful dense-yet-soft feel to it. Soft to touch,
dense to squeeze. it is actually touted as a pin cushion,
and oooh, that's exactly what i wanted it for.

to be honest, i haven't actually USED it yet as
a pin cushion. it's still sitting here on my desk.
It is doing an important
job of looking cute, colourful and clever every day.

i've never felted anything before. Well, not on purpose that is.
i'd like to try felting...
just not yet. Mittens to make.
