thursday

it's not raining.

Got knitting last night on the second sock of the Online green striping socks.
i think the person who decided on what colours to use for the striping needs
a good lesson in colour. they just need a little tweaking.

the knitting companion is beside me as i write this, he's been protecting me from some evil forces (Unseen by me) out in the back yard. Luckily the evil forces have been frightened away & now he can relax.

he'll be staying home today as i'm picking up a cd of my photographs. I'm taking the metro to get to the studio, and it's not so knitting-companion-easy as twirling off in a car.

Today's Good news

this lovely Rowan yarn needed to come home with me.
I'm sure you understand.

And this morning, this is what the First Rowan sock looked like:

And then, later on in the morning:
the SUN came out !
The knitting companion & i were out taking care of business. and that's when it happened.
we are expecting the rain to be finished now.
for several days.

and yes, that IS a wooden shoe in the background of the sock-in-progress.

Happy Socktoberfest.

A desire for more sock yarn.

All adds up to a dangerous mix.

More sock yarn to come. stay tuned.
i'm going to leave you now for some knitting.

for this week starting October 23

GEORGIA NICOLS October 23, 2005

All Signs (Eastern Time Zone)
"A hurricane only lasts for a day." It's true.
Good things are on the
horizon.
This week both the Sun and Jupiter move into
Scorpio - the sign

of Marquis de Sade and Mother Teresa.
No energy is more powerfully

uplifting and transforming than Scorpio.
Jupiter was in Scorpio in

1958-59; 1970; 1982; 1994 and now 2006. Yay!
This bodes well for Cancer
and Pisces
(both fellow Water Signs.)

Virgo and Capricorn love this shift

as well. (They're kissing' cousins.)
People are going to get serious about

improving things and cleaning up their act.
I'm not talking just organic

bologna - I'm talking Planet Earth,
recycling - the whole shebang.

(Scorpio doesn't fool around.) Give a man a
fish and he'll eat for a day.

Teach him how to surf the net - you'll never hear from him again.

Monday.

i've got another pair of socks underway.
Usually with socks, i finish a pair before starting the next.
but with the man-socks; well, what can i say ? they're not
for me so i wanted to be working on a pair for me from time to time.
i started the Rowan wool last night.
the Online socks aren't finished yet.
the man-sock is not finished yet.

i couldn't resist. theh Rowan wool was calling to me.

in the meantime, i never did get around to getting
groceries.
At least the bakery is nearby. i managed to get bread.
And of course, coffee.

Photos from the scotland trip have
just arrived in the form of a CD in the post.
i'll share them with you soon.

cozy beyond belief

these socks are so amazing and just leave me wanting More.
Too much of a good thing is not necessarily enough.
Yes, again, that's one of the Mountain colour bearfoot socks.
they just keep getting softer.

and the knitting continues. happy Socktoberfest.

i've been working on the green striping "online" wool socks. First
sock almost finished. I have another skein in a different
colourway of the Online yarn. and i'm glad for that:
the wool is fine, but the colourway of this green based skein is not
one i would have chosen if i had known how it would knit up.
Which is surprising, since my favourite colours include green and brown.
But the colours on this sock just don't seem to go together.
It's just a matter of personal taste. not my taste.

The second sock of: The Mansocks is underway. the cuff is complete & the long road down to the heel has started. it will be a while. bear with me.
