luscious colours ....

am i the only one who just found out about this gorgeous yarn?
Yarn That Rocks
i haven't seen it with my hands, yet (so to speak); but this Washable merino wool looks incredibly gorgeous.

And, in the home front,
i stayed in the house all week (working of course, so not a loss!)
to wait for a parcel from the post. I mailed home some packages while in scotland... mostly the wools that i bought. However, i am waiting for one more. Everything else arrived by last Tuesday. it's a wonderful wall hanging made of colourful Harris tweeds. (yes, the real deal).
cross your fingers for me that it arrives this coming week.

Knitting news: sock number two of a wool and mohair blend is coming along. I've just started the heel. i have never had socks with mohair. can't wait to try them.

in knitting news. ...

the green socks were finished while i was in scotland.
they're lovely & soft; washed but not yet worn.
Here's a view, with (too much) canadian light:

and, if you loved fibres & travelled all the way to the isle of orkney, what would you buy ?
to start with, a felt Pin Cushion !

to have a better look, you can click on any of the photos to enlarge them.
Now, what so many have been waiting for:

Here's a look at some yarn & the hand crafted basket that
i brought home ....

Now have a better look:

and for a closer view, so you can see what's what:
here is a tiny bit of lusciously soft "isis" by colinette. (how could i resist ? )

made in wales, purchased in the city of Lerwick on the isle of shetland, here is the lovely merino tape....

great quote ....

Did you stop for lunch today ?

Mark Twain:

"I have never let
schooling interfere with my education."

So, today's exciting news is that i took my Scotland-Trip photos for developing.
Yes, developing because they are not digital, they are film photos. the old fashioned kind. Long story.
Hoping to eventually have photos on a disc & then i will share them. don't think of this as slow, just think of it as building anticipaaaation ...

two of the packages that i mailed home
(not enough room in suitcase to put anything) arrived yesterday. Film & Wool.
You may be surprised to learn that i bought wool in a shade other than green.
Photos to follow.
Now, back to work.

home again ....

Of course i bought some wool while i was in scotland.
here is some of the new Shetland wool in a lovely new shetland, hand made basket ...

The wool loving knitty poodle thinks all the new wool is here for him to hug.

One more photo - a little knit cap that my
mom bought me; because you can never have too many hats ...

And thanks to a Web Genius (and creator of my website)
my email is healed & working. Now back to work, i have a lot of catching up to do.

back from scotland ....

and it's great to be back home again.

Scotland was beautiful;
photos to follow later on.
I have a huge glitch with my email upon arriving home. can't see my mail & can't send mail. This is not good for work. (or for finding out what awaits me in the 146 new messages).
